Humane Society Donation Sticker

Learning about the Humane Society

When my five-year-old daughter learned what an animal shelter was and saw all the animals waiting for homes, her heart immediately wanted to help. She came to me with big eyes and an even bigger idea—she wanted to save them all. As a family who’s already at maximum pet capacity (our home is full of love and fur!), I gently explained that while we couldn’t adopt more animals right now, we could still make a difference by raising money to help care for them.

That’s when we came up with something she was excited about: stickers! Because honestly, who doesn’t love stickers?

These aren’t just any stickers, though. They are hand-drawn and designed and created through a true collaboration between my daughter and me. We’ve worked together on every single step of the process—from the initial ideas to the final printing. They’re made from durable vinyl and carefully laminated for strong water resistance (I’m calling it waterproof-adjacent until I get around to properly testing them!).

We’re donating $3 from every sticker sold to our local Humane Society, so each purchase directly helps animals in need find their forever homes and get the care they deserve.

The cat and dog in the sticker are modeled after two of the pets we have lost since my daughter has been born. The dog is Jack and the cat is Little Man.

Check out my Etsy page or Square site if you would like to purchase one of these stickers or any of my other merchandise.

Meet Jack

The gentle giant on our sticker is Jack, our beloved Great Pyrenees and hound mix who came into our lives from a local animal shelter. Jack had the soul of a protector—loyal, devoted, and impossibly sweet. Even as arthritis settled into his bones and seasonal allergies made him uncomfortable year after year, his dedication to his family never wavered. He would position himself between us and any perceived danger, real or imagined, and shower us with the kind of unconditional love that leaves paw prints on your heart forever. Jack taught us what it means to love selflessly, to stay faithful through discomfort, and to protect those who matter most. He may have slowed down over the years, but his gentle presence and watchful eyes were constants we treasured every single day.

Meet Little Man

The mischievous feline on our sticker is Little Man, who was every bit the stereotypical orange cat—bold, feisty, endlessly playful, and always, always getting into something he shouldn’t. He had an independent streak a mile wide and a personality that filled every room he entered. But here’s what amazed me most: when I brought my daughter home as a newborn, this cat who would bite me seemingly for sport, who played rough and lived wild, transformed completely around her. He bonded with her instantly and instinctively knew to be gentle. He became her soft, purring guardian, never once using his claws or teeth with her even during his most rambunctious moods. Watching their friendship grow—seeing him curl up next to her, tolerate her toddler “pets,” and seek her out for cuddles—was one of the sweetest unexpected gifts of parenthood.

Remembering Them

Both Jack and Little Man were dearly loved members of our family. They lived full, happy lives and made it to healthy ages, surrounded by the people who adored them. But as anyone who’s loved and lost a pet knows, those years never feel like enough—whether it’s eight years or eighteen, the goodbye always comes too soon. By creating these stickers in their memory, we’re keeping their spirits alive while helping other animals find the kind of love and security they brought to our home.
